On 12 and 13 December 2023, the experts from the iAMP-Hydro team gathered for the first time at the project's demonstration sites in Spain.
In the region around Granada, the meeting was used to discuss and assess the possibilities to install the sensors, which are used in iAMP-Hydro to monitor the equipment conditions as well as the ecologic impacts. The discussions took place on site of the three hydropower plants where the sensors will be installed, which are La Vega - a 2.4 MW run-of-river power plant, Berchules - 0.8 MW run-of-river power plant, and Bermejales - a 2.1 MW dam-toe type hydropower plant.
The project partners from TCD, Suite5, CARTIF, NORCE, PPCR, Easy Hydro, and Cuerva who were on the sites will work in the coming months on the best way to use the collected data for making forecasts for the equipment resiliance, best ecologic operation, as well as optimum generation planning.
